2009 Centrum Gala

The Gala is Centrum’s annual fundraiser for scholarships and Centrum’s multi-generational creative education programs. Centrum, in partnership with Fort Worden State Park, is a gathering place for artists and creative thinkers from around the world, students of all ages and backgrounds, and audiences seeking extraordinary cultural enrichment. Centrum promotes creative experiences that change lives.

This year’s gala represents the energy and enthusiasm of the pavilion galas combined with the elegance of last year’s event.

The evening will consist of:

  • Champagne Reception with more room to stroll and view auction items.
  • Seasonal and sustainable cuisine by chef Jay Payne featuring:
    • 1st Course:
      Local Greens, Goat Cheese, Roasted Tomato, Tomato Rosemary Vinaigrette, Tiny Croutons
    • Entrée:
      Tenderloin and Ragout of Beef, Sequim Rye Spatzle, Braised Fennel, Orange Gremolata
      Pinot Noir Poached King Salmon with Braised Leeks, Thyme, and Yeast.  Crisp Sweet Potato, Apple, and Leek. 
      Fennel Flan, Vegetable 'Lasagna', Nash's Grain with Roasted Cherry Tomato, Herbs, Grilled Cippolini
    • Dessert:
      Roasted Fruit Pavlova with Fomage Blanc 'Spoon Cheesecake', Hazelnut Biscuit  

  • Entertainment with stars of the Centrum’s Piedmont Blues Intensive.
  • And back by popular demand, the silent and live auction with "only at the Gala" items and events donated by Centrum's generous donors and community members.
