The Port Townsend School of Woodworking is proud to announce our Summer Woodworking for Kids program.
The classes will be held on 6 weekends starting on July 19 and ending on August 24.
Drop-in for just the day or stay for as many classes as you like. Ether
way instructor John Edwards will provide hand-tools, materials, and
inspiration for an entertaining and educational experience.
The class will be held outside under an awning or inside if the weather conspires against us.
Class size is limited to 10 students
Woodworking for kids 6 to 9
Saturday & Sunday: 10:00am – 12:00pm each day
In
this class children will be introduced to the basics of woodworking.
Making a box for their tools will warm them up to the use of saws and
hammers. As second project they will have a choice of several projects to choose
from: birdhouse, wind catcher or a creative wall plank.
Woodworking for ages 10 to 14
Saturday & Sunday: 1:00 – 3:00pm each day
In
this class the student will be given the opportunity to explore
woodworking through simple to more challenging projects. All will start
by making a box for their tools. Opportunity to refine projects will be
encouraged. The second project options include a CD holder, cutting
board and an end table.
The
class fee is $15.00 per meeting or all 12 classes for $150.00. This
includes materials. Class fees will be collected on first attendance.
