There is a lot of great music coming out of Quebec these days, and we’ve been fortunate to have many of the people making that music at the Festival of American Fiddle Tunes recently.
We’re excited that this year we are able to welcome Genticorum to the gathering. This trio weaves precise and intricate fiddle and flute work, gorgeous
harmonies, and energetic foot percussions, guitar and bass accompaniment
into one big, jubilant, musical feast.
Genticorum’s fiddler, Pascal Gemme, has a fascinating blog devoted to the Québécois fiddle repertoire. It is in French but you should be able to get to the tunes, or of course, you can always use Google Translate to work your way into it.
