Nia Retreat: ‘Sacred Athlete’ with Ann Christiansen

Sacred Athlete Madrona MindBody Institute at Fort Worden has just announced a new residential movement retreat September 23-26th, 2010 in Port Townsend, WA.

"Sacred Athlete: A 4-Day Nia ReTREAT is a playshop devoted to the Sacred Athlete–a living archetype–reaching into the personal and collective unconscious of everyBody~INSPIRING them.  Experience your own free spirit while being true to the magnificent temple of Body."

The retreat features Ann Christiansen, regarded as the leading Nia trainer in Europe. This is a special opportunity to study with this Nia Master from Germany in her only 2010 U.S. appearance. The retreat is open to all.

Ann Christiansen was born in Sweden, and now lives in Hamburg Germany.  With a 10 year career as a physical therapist/kinesiologist, Ann's history includes representing Sweden in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics as a long distance swimmer, and placing as swimming Masters World Champion in 1998.  Ann discovered Nia in 1997 and has never stopped dancing since.  She was the first Nia teacher in Germany, now a Trainer for White Belts and Blue Belts and continues to teach and spread the Joy of Nia throughout Europe and the world.
