June 2010 is Orca Month, and in recognition of the iconic mammal and its place in the Puget Sound ecosystem, the Port Townsend Marine Science Center at Fort Worden is producing a number of intriguing events for the public. Hands on activities explore how orcas communicate and work together in family groups, and how these groups relate to what they eat and where they live.

Orca Bone Atlas Open House
Learn about our unique bone atlas, which documents the skeleton of a transient orca, from the volunteers who are bringing this exciting project to life. You’ll also get to see how and why we made a set of false orca teeth.
