Jazz Port Townsend Is Ready to Swing

Late July in Port Townsend means one thing. It's time to swing!

We're getting set to start Washington's longest-running summer jazz festival, Jazz Port Townsend. At its core, Jazz
Port Townsend is a week-long
workshop
where people from all over the world come to live and learn
with some of the finest jazz musicians playing today.

Starting on Thursday, July 29, and running through Saturday, July 31, the renowned artist/faculty take to the stage for mainstage
performances in Fort Worden State Park's WWI-era McCurdy Pavilion, and
for club performances in Port Townsend's historic downtown and uptown
districts.

To help get you ready, we've begun posting performance previews over on our Jazz site. Our first preview covers the Friday, July 30 mainstage concert featuring Ingrid Jensen and Larry Goldings. We're thrilled to have Larry Goldings join us in Port Townsend. An organist and keyboard player in constant demand, Larry (along with Jack DeJohnette and John
Scofield) received a "Best Jazz Instrumental Album" Grammy nomination in 2007 for the album, "Trio
Beyond – Saudades" (ECM).
