They're back! And you can catch them today at the Wednesday Afternoon Farmers' Market… then again at 8pm at the Upstage Restaurant.
The Miho & Diego Duo are favorites here in town, and whenever they are in residence at Centrum they make a point of getting out there and playing for the community. Please come and enjoy their beautiful blend of Japanese and Latin American inspired music.
After the Farmers' Market they'll head over to the Upstage in downtown PT where they'll be joined by Frank Anderson and Matt Sircely. Miho will be playing some of the music written here at Centrum during her residence as a recipient of the Russell Jaqua Award for Artistic Excellence. This award is funded by Centrum donors, and is administered in partnership with Artist Trust in Seattle.
The Miho & Diego Duo makes it a primary goal to encourage cultural understanding through music. To achieve this goal they have developed a program that has been presented in Japan and the King County Library System that introduces youth to Japanese and South American folk music using involvement and participation. They also hold lecture recitals that combine both the educational and musical aspects of South American and Japanese music, as well as the history of marimba.
