The music of Charlie Parker, Thelonius Monk, John Clayton and Steely Dan all come together for Centrum’s second annual Jazz Big Band Intensive October 28 through 31 under the direction of the conductor / composer / arranger Fred Sturm. 

Known for his work leading and arranging for top European ensembles including the HR (Frankfurt Radio) Big Band and recognized with 9 top awards from Downbeat Magazine for his student ensembles from the Eastman School of Music and Lawrence University, Fred leads an inspirational weekend featuring a wide variety of big band repertoire sure to engage, enlighten and entertain.
