Centrum is excited to announce the opening of registration for the 2011 Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival, slated for July 31-August 7, 2011. Artistic Director Corey Harris has worked with Program Manager Peter McCracken to assemble an outstanding roster of artist/faculty who come to Fort Worden State Park to teach aspiring blues musicians of all ages.
We’re particularly excited to welcome the legendary Guy Davis, who will be teaching and performing at the Festival. Guy says, “I have things to say to people; that there’s magic in this old wood and steel, that there’s magic in a harmonica.”
He will be teaching guitar during the week, along with John Miller, Nat Reese, Otis Taylor, Jeff Scott, Orville Johnson (slide), Pura Fe (lap slide), Corey Harris, Cheick Hamala Diabate, and Mark Puryear.
Participants will be able also be to study banjo, harmonica, blues singing, accordion, piano, bass, washboard, mandolin, fiddle, jug band, and gospel choir.
Register online for the Festival, or call us at 360-385-3102.
