The Seattle Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Music Director Gerard Schwarz, kicks off Centrum’s summer season on Friday, June 17th, 7:00 PM at McCurdy Pavilion at Fort Worden State Park, with a program that includes Dvorak’s New World Symphony, Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony, and the premiere of a new work by Philip Glass, one of America’s most important composers.
The Seattle Symphony is returning to Port Townsend after a nearly 10-year hiatus. The concert marks the last appearance on the Olympic Peninsula with Gerard Schwarz as conductor, after his distinguished 26-year career at the podium.
