Centrum’s 35th annual Jazz Port Townsend festival in summer 2011 welcomed Paquito D’Rivera, Stefon Harris, Gerald Clayton, Jeff Hamilton, Dee Daniels, and more than 30 other iconic and emerging jazz artists to pavilion shows and intimate club performances throughout Port Townsend.  Led by Artistic Director John Clayton, the festival boasted a diverse lineup of concerts and events, including a world premiere performance of a big band composition from NEA Jazz Master Bill Holman, featuring nine-time Grammy winner and fellow NEA Jazz Master Paquito D’Rivera. In all, more than 30 different concerts and events took place at McCurdy Pavilion, on the campus of Fort Worden State Park, and in club venues throughout Port Townsend.

Jim Levitt, longtime Jazz Port Townsend photographer, returned in 2011 to capture scenes from both on and off the stage.  Jim’s eye for detail, and his ability to always be in the “right place,” has led to many outstanding photos over the years, including a wealth of great images from 2011.

Visit the Centrum Flickr page HERE to view the first of Jim’s photos from 2011 – and stay tuned for more images as they become available.

You may also view images from Voice Works, Fiddle Tunes, the Port Townsend Writers’ Conference, and the Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival – and thanks to the many great photographers who lend their time and artistry to documenting events at Centrum.
