Benjamin Alire Sáenz's creative nonfiction workshop is now half-full. Registration for this workshop opened on Monday, and is going quickly.

Sáenz is the author of "Carry Me Like Water," "Dark and Perfect Angels," "The House of Forgetting," "In Perfect Light," and "Names on a Map", as well as "Elegies in Blue," "Dreaming the End of War" and "The Book of What Remains." He has taught at the University of Texas at El Paso for the past twenty years. His class, "The Art of the Memoir," will focus on generating new work in an intense, supportive environment. Registration is available here.

For more information about Benjamin's work, please visit his website. In addition to his highly regarded novels and nonfiction, Benjamin Alire Sáenz is also a noted poet, with two collections available from Copper Canyon Press.

Registration for all workshops for the 2011 Port Townsend Writers' Conference has gone, so far, more quickly than ever before. Dorianne Laux's poetry workshop is now completely closed and the classes of Sam Ligon, Pam Houston, Paisley Rekdal, and Carl Phillips are all either halfway or more than halfway full, as well.
