Calder Quartet Showcases Week of Chamber Music

Winners of the 2014 Avery Fisher Career Grant, the Calder Quartet is known for the discovery, commissioning, recording and mentoring of some of today’s best emerging composers. The group works and collaborates with artists across musical genres, spanning the ranges of the classical and contemporary music world.

‘Tuesday’s concert by the superb Calder Quartet showed that the time-honored string quartet format still provides fertile ground for innovation and surprise in the hands of imaginative, skillful creators.’ – The New York Times

In residence for Centrum’s 2016 Chamber Music Workshop, the Quartet will lead a week of masterclasses and coaching for new and emerging chamber musicians invited to the Workshop.
