Grammy and Pulitzer Prize-winning artist Rhiannon Giddens — who has been on faculty at both Fiddle Tunes and Voice Works — is nominated for Best Americana Album for “You’re The One” and Best American Roots Performance for her song “You Louisiana Man”.
The great Bobby Rush, who joined us last year at Acoustic Blues for a special performance and taught an unforgettable harmonica clinic at the workshop, is nominated for Best Traditional Blues Album for “All My Love For You”.
Dom Flemons — who has been faculty at both Fiddle Tunes and Acoustic Blues for many years is nominated for Best Folk Album for “Traveling Wildfire”.
Sara Gazarek and Johnaye Kendrick— who have both been faculty at Jazz Port Townsend — are nominated for Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals, for their work on the album “In The Wee Small Hours of the Morning”.
The Pacifica Quartet, who most recently performed as part of Centrum’s Chamber Music Series in 2018, is nominated for Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance for their work on “American Stories”.
Edgar Meyer, who was one of the faculty to help launch the Brazilian Choro program at Centrum, is nominated for Best Instrument Composition for his work on the Album “As we Speak”.
