Karen Lené Rudd is a member of the Centrum Artist Network who has been involved with the Centrum residency program since the early 2000’s. Her sculptural work “Last Stand” is currently part of the exhibition Silva Cascadia: Under the Spell of the Forest at the Museum of Northwest Art in La Conner Washington. The show, which features noteworthy Northwest women artists whose works center around the fecund dialogue with trees and forests, rippling out in themes that encompass science and environmentalism, history, art practice, and spiritualism, is open until May 12, 2024.
Silva Cascadia: Under the Spell of the Forest comprises two- and three-dimensional works inspired by forests and trees. With themes ranging from philosophical contemplation and history to the impacts of climate change and deforestation in our region and beyond, Silva Cascadia aims to provide a place for reflection, promote awareness, and inspire conversations.
Artists include: Maria Cristalli, Linda Davidson*, Kathleen Faulkner, Patty Haller, Laura Hamje, Hart James, Claire Johnson, Donna Leavitt, Karen Lené Rudd*, Juliet Shen, Kimberly Trowbridge*, and Suze Woolf*.
