Join us at the Wheeler Theater Saturday May 18 at 7:30pm for a celebration of the “Jazz Age” string players – from Hot Jazz, Swing, Western Swing, Hawaiian Swing and the jazzier jugbands of the American south to the stringed instrument innovators throughout The Americas, Caribbean, Latin America, New Orleans etc. Matt Munisteri, Artistic Curator for Red Hot Strings has invited a sizzling line-up of extraordinary musicians from across the country to fill your ears with the sweet sounds of this beloved American music. Line-up includes violinist Charlie Burnham; guitarist Albanie Falletta; bassist Zoe Guigueno; multi-instrumentalist (clarinet, fiddle, and mandolin) Dennis Lichtman; steel guitarist, string bassist Mikiya Matsuda; accomplished multi-instrumentalist Jerron Paxton; Western swing guitarist Whit Smith, and swing guitarist Jonathan Stout. All top shelf players on one stage!
