FREE “Work in Progress” Performance 4pm Saturday

“Work in Progress”
Date: Saturday, January 14
Time: 4 p.m.
Place: Upstairs in Building 205, Fort Worden

Free and open to the public, Wayne Horvitz, Yukio Suzuki (dance/choreography) and Yohei Saito (video) will give a “Work In Progress” presentation.

Horvitz, winner of the prestigious Doris Duke Performing Artist Award in 2016, was in residence at Centrum in 2012 along with Suzuki and Saito when they created and performed “55: Music and Dance in Concrete,” one of the most innovative and successful residencies ever hosted by Centrum.

The artists felt so inspired by their experience at Centrum, they requested to return to develop this new work. This week they will literally be creating the piece, and the audience on Saturday will be the first in the world to see it unfold. Then, the finished work will be performed at the Seattle Art Museum under the title, “Those Who Remain: Concerto for Installation and Improviser.”
