Centrum 50 McCurdy Fort Worden

New volunteer positions to look for in 2023!

Dear Volunteers,

We’re happy to have made it through the 2022 season unscathed and eagerly anticipate next year!  Registration’s off to a robust start and the most notable schedule change is that the Ukulele Festival has been brought forward to April from September. As usual, in early April I’ll be sending out dates and details of all the volunteer events and performances over the coming Summer season.
Next summer 2023 marks the beginning of a year of festivities for Centrum’s 50th.  Many plans to celebrate this grand occasion are afoot, and consequently we’ll be looking for additional volunteer help during the shoulder season and over the summer too. More immediately, the following volunteer opportunities will be available starting early 2023:

  • Marketing Volunteers – Mid January Start

If you have a creative and/or technical flare and would like to be involved with Centrum’s 50th marketing effort, we’d really appreciate your help in the following areas:

    • Website Creative Asset Project Assistant
    • Brand Identity Project Assistant
    • Omni Channel Media Planning Assistants
    • Creative Strategy and Campaign Development Assistant
    • Boosting Centrum’s Social & web Presence

Please contact Centrum’s Marketing Director, Jaime Jaynes at jjaynes@centrum.org for more information.

  • Rhody Festival Float Building – Early April

We’re looking for a crew of volunteers to help build a portable Centrum office porch on a flatbed or trailer.
The Centrum float idea is to have people playing music on the portable porch.
We’re starting from scratch here and any ideas about sourcing a flatbed or trailer are welcome!

Please contact Katy Goodman kgoodman@centrum.org

  • Story Collecting – starting now!

Genevieve Barlow has recently joined Centrum as the Alumni Network Coordinator for Centrum’s 50th Anniversary.

Please contact Genevieve alumni@centrum.org if you have any memories and stories you have that involve Centrum over the years.

Volunteer Intern Hiring Fair – Chimacum High School

We were invited to participate in the Volunteer Hiring Fair at Chimacum High School last week.
It was a delight to talk to and enlighten students about Centrum events and workshops.

Creative Alliance
Building 310, which will be the new home to some Centrum staff including volunteer management, hopefully by next summer. Renovations are still underway but that’s the plan.
Appropriately, the previous volunteer manager, Jacqueline Mention, appears front and center on the Building 310 banner!

Bellanova – One Voice – Memories

Although this isn’t a Centrum group, this reminds me of the joyful impact of seeing a throng of kids coming together
to learn, create and being away together having fun.  Cheers to you!

Wishing you all safe and happy times over the holidays and look forward to seeing you in 2023.
