The Words Count Poetry Group sprang out of the artist-rich Fernwood neighborhood, of Victoria BC, in 2013. They have met regularly to edit each other’s works, share ideas, and inspire poetic rigour. Group members have participated in local readings and been involved in Victoria’s poetry community.

The group is currently working to formalize a poetry collection. Writers Nancy Yakimoski, Kim Shortreed, Tineke Saul are working on their anthology during the week of February 15-21 while in residence at Centrum. They have invited visual artist Jillian Player to accompany them and respond to their writing visually.

While here in Port Townsend, they present a reading and art show at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 19, at Better Living Through Coffee, 100 Tyler St.
