Workshop with Cathy MacGregor: Cedar Weaving Round Ornaments

Join Centrum Northwest Heritage Resident Cathy MacGregor (Jamestown S’Klallam) in a special workshop designed for all levels. Learn about the cultural significance of cedar weaving, responsible practices for harvesting and caring for cedar, and the steps for creating a three-dimensional ornament.

MacGregor is a weaver and teacher dedicated to rediscovering the traditional techniques of her ancestors. As an awardee of a Centrum Northwest Heritage Residency, MacGregor will be in residence December 2-15, 2020.

This program is made possible through a National Endowment for the Arts “Our Town” grant and is presented by Centrum in partnership with the Port Townsend School of the Arts and Fort Worden Public Development Authority (PDA).
