For DANCE This 2015 we are looking forward to the return of the amazing Eliie Sandstrom, Christy McNeil, & Dora Oliveria who will be teaching ballet, modern jazz and Afro Brazilian dance. And we are welcoming hip-hop dance teacher Andrew Faulkner for the fist time.

DANCE This is our dance camp for high-school students in grades 9-12, produced in collaboration with Seattle Theatre Group.

Christy McNeil is just finishing her third year as an assistant professor of dance at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA. After serving as an assistant director the past two years, Christy was promoted to director of the Cal Poly Orchesis Dance Company on whom she created a new work “James Bond Suite” for their January 2015 concert. In February she was a guest artist for the University of Idaho Dance Program, where she created a new piece called “Granma’s Club,” and the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Moscow, Idaho.

Recently, Christy was also a guest artist for the University of Texas-Pan American Dance Department. Her piece “A Side, B Side” premiered in Texas in March of 2015. This summer, Christy will be teaching at the West Virgina University Summer Dance Program, the Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop, and of course DANCE This! Additionally, she will be a choreographer and performer for Interweave Dance Theatre in Boulder, CO.

In October, Christy will be presenting her research on assessment in the dance classroom at the NDEO National Conference in Phoenix, AZ.
