A Special Opportunity to Support the Port Townsend Writers Conference

With a focus on community and rigorous attention to craft, the Port Townsend Writers Conference is a place where inspiration flourishes and lives are changed. Join Centrum to celebrate the legacy and vitality of this program with a gift to The Port Townsend Writers Conference 50th Anniversary Fund.

“I’ve attended the Port Townsend Writers Conference most years since 2005. In that time, I’ve generated a wellspring of poems, stories, and essays on that campus. From these, two books have been traditionally published, with more to follow. The support this community has given this working mom? Immeasurable! PTWC is truly my second family!”
Tamara Kaye Sellman will release her collection of short fiction, Cul-de-Sac Stories, published by Aqueduct Press, at the 2024 Port Townsend Writers Conference.

Since 1974, when award-winning novelist and poet Bill Ransom started the Port Townsend Writers Conference, the program has become a haven for storytellers from across the Americas. The Conference regularly attracts some of the most influential writers of our time, including Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award winners, PEN Literary Awardees, and New York Times Bestsellers. We are proud to provide a space for writers from diverse backgrounds at any stage in their writing life. To ensure the conference represents the true complexity of voices and stories out there today, we award up to $35,000 in scholarships and fellowships annually.

For some, attending the Port Townsend Writers Conference is a financial stretch, and we are proud that our writing community values reciprocity. If you are in a position to give, consider making a donation to The Port Townsend Writers Conference 50th Anniversary Fund and help to mark this milestone year.

We are honored to acknowledge donors to the fund during our final reading on Friday, July 19th, which will feature conference founder, Bill Ransom.

THANK YOU FOR BEING THE BRIGHT HEART OF CENTRUM!

Together, we can create a place where anyone from anywhere can nurture their
creativity in an environment that is supportive, challenging, and uplifting.
