2010 Arrives Early

 Jazz Port Townsend workshop combo

There may still be a month left in 2009, but Centrum is getting a head start on 2010.

Registration is now live for the 2010 Jazz Port Townsend workshop week. Artistic Director John Clayton has invited an outstanding group of jazz artists to serve as July 25 – August 1, 2010. Highlights include the Heath Brothers Quartet (Jimmy and Tootie Heath, Jeb Patton and
David Wong), Butch Miles (drums), Byron Stripling (trumpet), Ben Wolfe
(bass), Christine Jensen (alto), Rene Marie (vocal), and Ellen Rowe
(piano/composition). View complete faculty list

Workshop seats are filling fast for the 2010 Port Townsend Writers' Conference, July 18-15, 2010. Along with nonfiction workshops (Denise Chávez will be leading a generative writing workshop, Bich Minh Nguyen will be leading a master class, and Tom Miller will be leading a travel-writing class) and poetry options (the workshops of Martín Espada and Copper Canyon Press poet Dana Levin are nearly sold out); the fiction workshops at the Conference will also be stellar, featuring Micheline Aharonian Marcom, Ana Menéndez, and Chris Abani, who has only one space left in his workshop.

We've also been hearing from a lot of very excited young artists who want to come to Fort Worden State Park to participate in our Young Artist Project workshops. We have week long sessions for students in grades 5-12, starting in the March, and going all the way through July.

If you are thinking about joining us in 2010, take a look at all of the 2010 offerings that are available, and register online!
