Acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, performer and educator Aaron Jonah Lewis will be on faculty at the 2019 Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Workshop. Lewis will lead participants in blues fiddle workshops (he also plays banjo, mandolin, and guitar).
“…Eclectic and high-spirited fiddling. Technically, he’s a brilliant fiddler, able to blend genres at will, and he’s got the kind of high-wire aggression that makes for compelling listening.” Sing Out! Magazine
Playing at breakneck speeds and bringing old-time traditions to life, Lewis raises the art of the fiddle to its highest levels. Raw and homespun, his range and dexterity is amplified by his enjoyment and passion for his music. To every performance and classroom, he brings his charisma, soul, and pure creativity.
Having won top awards at many major festivals, including at the Clifftop Appalachian String Band Festival and at the Galax Old Fiddlers Convention, Lewis brings his classic, word-class style to Port Townsend. He has performed at major festivals across the US and throughout Europe and continues to tour extensively.
