Centrum’s Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival is excited to be included in Seattle’s Secret Music Showcase #12 at the iconic Triple Door Theater.
Starting in 2004, The Seattle Secret Music Showcase began as a realization that much of the music that intrigues and inspires young musicians occurs in unexpected places and is not recorded. This observation has since grown into a series of musical benefit events, celebrating such essential working talent as well as supporting worthy local causes.
The show, on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 7:30pm, will feature a fantastic lineup previewing Centrum’s Summer Season. Included in the show is Port Townsend Acoustic Blues Festival Artistic Director, Daryl Davis, with Kitty King and Sonja Lee. Also featured are Orville Johnson with John Miller and Grant Dermody, who have been playing together for close to ten years after all three were on staff at Centrum.
Their latest album, “Deceiving Blues” was put out by Orb Disc Records. Thursday’s lineup also includes Son Jack Jr. and Michael Wilde with Jim Dilanni, Mary Flower, and Ricardo & Friends. Flower, with eight albums under her belt compliments her unassuming vocals with her mastery of the difficult Piedmont blues guitar style.
Tickets are $20 with a $5 convenience fee.
Purchase tickets by calling 206. 838. 4333 (between 7am and 8pm seven days a week) or in person at 216 Union Street, Seattle (box office hours: show nights ONLY 4:30pm – ½ hour after the last show begins).
