Don’t miss Centrum’s first ever Forró Dance Party on April 27, 2018 at 7pm at Madrona MindBody at Fort Worden!
Forró (pronounced fo-ho) is lively music rooted in Northeast Brazil that people love to dance to. There’s something magical about a Forró party, especially with a live band playing traditional instruments.
Renowned clarinetist Anat Cohen, mandolinist Dudu Maia, 7-string guitarist Douglas Lora, percussionist Alexandre Lora, keyboardist Jovino Santos Neto and saxophonist Daniela Spielmann will form one of the best Forró dance bands in the world for one night only.
You don’t have to be a great dancer or have a partner to love Forró. Come at 7:00 to learn some simple steps and you’ll be ready to hit the floor at 7:30 when the live music starts. Beverages and light snacks available at Port Townsend’s first Forró party!
