Fort Worden State Park and Conference Center has a variety of meeting rooms, accommodations, food services and recreational opportunities available to make sure your event is memorable. Fort Worden is a delightful place to gather with business associates or other people with shared interests.

Park staff will help find the best accommodations for your group. To ensure your gathering is successful and enjoyable, we offer individual attention to planning your event. Your gathering is important, and we want to ensure every detail is addressed. For your convenience, we have experienced planning staff available seven days a week to make sure your stay at Fort Worden is wonderful.

Conference and convention planners with 50 or more participants for an event may reserve facilities up to two years in advance. Conference and convention planners who reserve overnight accommodations, food services and meeting rooms for 100 or more participants may reserve facilities more than two years in advance.

Conference rooms cancellation policy:

  • If a reservation is canceled 90 days or more prior to arrival date, there is a $25 fee per unit canceled.
  • If a reservation is canceled less than 90 days prior to arrival date, the first night’s rental fee for each unit canceled will be forfeited.

Please note: “Attrition Fees” may apply to large conference groups. Refer to the Fort Worden State Park Conference Center Conference Group Reservations Agreement for specific details.

Housing

With 456 bedrooms, Fort Worden State Park Conference Center offers a wide variety of overnight accommodations for family vacations, conferences, reunions and retreats. Visitors may choose from century-old officers’ housing, a castle, special one-room houses and large dormitories. All accommodations are located on beautiful state park grounds that have miles of trails, sandy beaches and unparalleled views of the Cascades and the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

There are 35 housing units available for renting year round. Houses range from six-bedroom to single-bedroom units with living rooms, dining rooms and kitchens. All the houses have fully equipped kitchens (coffee makers, utensils, dinnerware and cookware) and have full linen service. These houses are very popular with conferences and travelers. Reservations may be made online, by phone or mail up to one year in advance of arrival date.

Hostel

The HI-Olympic Hostel is housed in a former WWII barracks building it is situated on “the hill” just above the main campus, with spectacular views toward the south; across the fields and bluffs out into Port Townsend Bay, across the water toward the Cascades and Mt. Rainier.

Camping

Campers may enjoy this scenic and historic fort at two delightful campgrounds with 80 campsites that may be reserved up to one year in advance. Both campgrounds have restrooms with showers. Maximum site length is 75 feet (may have limited availability).

  • Beach campground – features 50 full-service (water, electric and sewer) hookup sites tucked between the bluffs and the beaches of Point Wilson. The sites are level, spacious and open; most sites have an amazing view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
  • Upper campground – features 30 sites with water and electricity, and a sewer dump station nearby. The campsites are mostly forested, some with privacy. They are fairly level, and quite long. This campground offers easy access to miles of trails.

Campsites are popular year round. Reservations are highly recommended. Campgrounds fill quickly year round. Please call (360) 344-4431 for individual campsite reservations.

Check-in time is 2:30 p.m., check-out time is 1 p.m.
Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

RV rally site

Fort Worden offers a rally site for groups only. Qualifying groups must have a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 22 self-contained RVs. Dining

Enjoy flavorful, delicious lunch offerings in the Commons at Fort Worden. From traditional dishes to imaginative and nutritious vegetarian, vegan and ethnic entrees, we’ll capture your taste appeal. You’ll find a salad bar abundant with local, sustainable produce and toppings, made-from-scratch soups and decadent desserts. It is a perfect gathering place and great for those enjoying the atmosphere at Fort Worden.

Partnering with Fort Worden State Park, Bon Appétit Management Company brings you Local Goods, a café passionate about great food and inspired by our commitment to sustainability. We believe that food serves a much larger purpose for the community. A café is a gathering place. Breaking bread together helps create a sense of community and comfort.

Visit Local Goods and enjoy local espresso drinks and coffee, house-made pastries and desserts, flavorful grab-and-go choices, including freshly prepared sandwiches, salads abundant with local, sustainable produce and made-from-scratch soups.
