Open Studio
Gilchun Koh, one of our current resident in artists is having an open studio this Friday, September 22nd in Building 305, in the north classroom.
About the artist:
Gilchun Koh, born in Jeju, South Korea, in 1956, is an artist. His main art subjects are ecology, environment, as well as politics. He has participated in numerous domestic and overseas exhibitions including nine personal shows in Jeju(South Korea), Seoul(South Korea), Seattle(USA), Santa Rosa(USA), Port Townsend(USA), and Sapporo(Hokkaido, Japan). In 2011, he was one of the twelve noticeable artists chosen by Hankyoreh, one of main South Korea media companies. In 2018, his solo show in the Jeju Contemporary Art Museum was chosen as one of the top five solo shows in that year by the prestigious Kim Dal-jin Art Research Institute. Some of his works have been possessed by the Jeju Museum of Art, Jeju Contemporary Art Museum, Jeju April 3rd Peace Museum, Art X Contemporary (Former Art Xchange Gallery, Seattle, USA) etc.
