Zydeco is a lively and rhythmic music genre that originated in southwest Louisiana, particularly among the Creole population. It combines elements of traditional Creole music, African rhythms, blues, and Cajun influences. Zydeco music is characterized by its infectious beat, often driven by the accordion and the rubboard (also known as the frottoir), with lyrics typically sung in Louisiana French or English.
