Presentation and Studio Visit: Ryan Christopher Jones

Please join us September 10^th at 6 p.m. for a talk and studio visit with anthropologist and photojournalist Ryan Christopher Jones in Centrum’s 305 Building Classroom Studio.

Ryan Christopher Jones is an Anthropology PhD Candidate at Harvard University, where he is researching regional conflicts over California water infrastructure in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. His visual presentation discusses the early stages of his doctoral field research, with a focus on water scarcity, community relationships to local waterways, and the complex politics of intrastate water transfers. Ryan is also a photojournalist for The New York Times, ProPublica, Marshall Project, NPR, The Atlantic, the Washington Post, and others. He is a two-time judge for the Pulitzer Prizes in Breaking News Photography and Feature Photography, and in 2022 he received the American Mosaic Journalism Prize for his visual reporting in New York and California.
