Biography

Chris Wallace, hailing from the small town of West Point, Georgia, has been immersed in music for as long as he can remember. Starting out at just 11 years old, Chris began playing music for churches, and it’s been his passion ever since. Currently, he serves as the Minister of Music at The Friendship Baptist Church in Columbus, GA, with past roles at Spirit Filled Ministries, Bethlehem Baptist Church, Asbury United Methodist Church, and Sightseeing Road Chapel at Fort Benning. Chris’s musical journey has put him on stage with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Shirley Caesar, Kirk Franklin, the Clark Sisters, and William Murphy. A true advocate for music education, Chris founded the Fountain City Battle of the Bands and co-founded the Columbus All-Star Marching Band. Chris has made his mark as Assistant Band Director and Band Director at William H. Spencer High School and as Choral Director and Band Director for Quitman County Schools. He also founded “The League of Extraordinary Musicians,” a platform to teach young people about music through piano and vocal training. In addition, he’s served as Director of Music for both the Columbus Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance and the Mount Calvary Baptist Association. Over the years, he’s led workshops and taught on local, state, and national levels, including at the General Missionary Baptist Convention. As a creator, Chris has produced six gospel albums, with his latest release, God Vibez, blending modern hip-hop and R&B influences with gospel music. Alongside his ministry work, Chris is also a vocalist for the globally acclaimed rock band, The Heavy. He’s toured the world, performing on iconic stages like Madison Square Garden, Coachella, and making appearances on shows like Late Night with David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. From Amsterdam to Paris to Berlin, Chris’s voice has echoed across the globe, making waves both in the gospel and mainstream music scenes.
