Julie Pfeffer grew up in a musical family and has been singing and harmonizing since grade school, in genres from classical to old-time. Since moving to New Orleans in 2018, she has prioritized music, focusing on intensive voice study, and joined the local bluegrass, jazz, and classical scenes. Having progressed from choral singer to soloist, she spent several years as lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the Monday Night String Band in New Orleans and continues to perform in multiple genres around town. Julie co-leads the weekly NOLA Pickin’ Party bluegrass jam and developed the jam’s popular Foundations of Bluegrass learning sessions. She teaches workshops and individual lessons on vocal technique in New Orleans and beyond. Her goal is to help as many people as possible become the best singers that they can be!
