Founded in 1974, Centrum produces multi-disciplinary artist workshops, intensives, and residencies on 434 acres of parkland at Fort Worden State Park on Puget Sound in the Victorian seaport community of Port Townsend, Washington. Centrum envisions a future where anyone from anywhere can nurture their creativity in an environment that is supportive, challenging and uplifting – building a world of greater civility and inclusion through the arts.
Centrum’s Youth Programs are designed specifically to cultivate arts and creativity in young people throughout the year. These programs integrate music, dance, singing, writing, theater, science, history, and artistic expressions of all kinds. From African dance to Native American voices, youth are taught to explore world art and learn to express themselves through new avenues.
