Walter Parsons is President of BMR Associates, Inc. providing consulting services to media organizations. In his work he emphasizes collaborative behavior, strategic thinking, financial literacy, and leadership. He has been involved in public broadcasting for more than twenty-five years. His twelve years of consulting work includes leading large industry-wide efforts as well as extensive work with leadership at individual public radio and TV stations. Prior to joining BMR he had a fifteen-year career as Chief Operating Officer of KCTS Television in Seattle. Before joining KCTS he was a financial and planning executive with Exxon Corporation. For almost thirty years Walter has served in leadership positions on nonprofit boards of a number of arts organizations, a poetry press, a leadership organization, a multi-state library network, a K-12 independent school and a social service organization. He has a BSE from the University of Michigan, an MS from Stevens Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Columbia University.
