Get connected if you’re new, or re-connected if you’ve been with us before.

The Centrum International Choro Workshop is known for its remarkable faculty, all of whom will be back for our online version in 2021. You will join them for Special Topics sessions, instrumental master classes, and even a live-streamed concert. Plus you will receive three tunes recorded by them that you can play along with. This music is too much fun to let a virus get in the way.

Join 7th-9th grade students from around Washington State for Explorations Online! Through this immersive five-day program students are introduced to the world of arts and ideas, creative risk-taking, and personal development. It’s a total learning environment that takes music, visual arts, writing, and many other art mediums out of the studio and into your home! Students will receive instructions via email to choose their classes and will be mailed a personalized package with all of the necessary materials and supplies (to keep!) before the program begins.

Grades 5-6

Water World Online, a dynamic collaboration between Centrum and the Port Townsend Marine Science Center, is filled with activities and projects that expand and enhance elementary students’ experience of the marine world through the lenses of both science and art. In collaboration with artists, scientists, and peers from across the state, students integrate scientific investigations with creative writing and visual art. The result is a multi-faceted, full immersion online learning experience. Students work in small groups that rotate through a variety of interactive classes and labs. Each day offers a mix of both scientific and artistic workshops. The group size is small to allow for maximum personal attention and engagement.

Monday Night Lectures
ONLINE

Our Communiversity arts and lectures series continues in 2021, beginning on Monday, March 1 with National Geographic photographer, Joel Sartore.  Joel created the National Geographic Photo Ark, a multiyear effort to raise awareness of and find solutions to some of the most pressing issues affecting wildlife and their habitats. The project aims to document every species living in the world’s zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, inspire action through education, and help save wildlife by supporting on-the-ground conservation efforts.

We also welcome New York Times bestselling author Sarah Vowell to Centrum on Monday, April 12.  By examining the connections between the American past and present, Vowell offers personal, often humorous accounts of American history as well as current events and politics. Her most recent book, Lafayette in the Somewhat United States, explores both the ideas and the battles of the American Revolution. She is also the author of essay collections, The Partly Cloudy Patriot and Take the Cannoli.

Please note that Centrum’s Fall 2021 Programs will open for registration this spring, once we know more about on-campus options for gatherings.  This will include our Voice Works and Ukulele workshops.  Please visit our website for updates!
