Artists who spend time at Centrum are immersed in the historic setting of a former military base/turned state park and arts center. Situated amongst 440 acres, with trails through woods and along the sea shore, there are discoveries to be made each day.

The walls of the Batteries at Fort Worden have been an inspiration to me for many years. The graffiti marks and the park’s attempts to cover them up have created beautiful surfaces and what looks like accidental paintings. I have used the memories of these rich surfaces while I explore abstraction in painting and printmaking. – Painter and resident Linda Kokanovic
