New Board Appointments for 2024
The Centrum board unanimously elected Renee Klein, co-owner of MADRONA MINDBODY INSTITUTE, to serve as President for 2024. She succeeds Scott Wilson who served for two years in the role. Since 1994, she had been a principal with her family-owned business, Klein & Klein Consulting, originally based in Seattle. The firm specialized in public relations, communications and strategic planning. For five years she was President and CEO of the American Lung Association of the Mountain Pacific, with earlier experience as the Executive Director of the Highline Medical Center Foundation and, in the early 1990s, as the General Manager for Communications of the McDonnell Douglas Corp. In addition to leading the board, Klein will oversee a new strategic planning process for the organization involving the entire board and staff.
Meredith Wagner joins Centrum Board. Wagner is the retired Director of the Jefferson County Library District. She served the district in numerous roles over her 27-year career, including long range and strategic planning, finance, operations, personnel, fundraising, programming, information technology, and public and community relations. Under her leadership, the library established the multi-library cooperative that provides users access to public and school library collections throughout the County. She served on leadership teams for two building renovations and led the design and build of a custom, solar-powered bookmobile. Before moving to Washington in 1989, Meredith was the Associate Director of Sponsored Programs at the College of William and Mary where she managed research grants and contracts for the University. She also worked as head of Annual Giving at the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, Virginia. Currently, Meredith serves on Jefferson Land Trust’s Look to the Land Capital Campaign Committee.
